Craft Time- Wooden Spoons

Hi there- I have received quite a few questions about the dessert spoons used in my Shake, Rattle and Roll Baby Shower, so I wanted to share how you can easily make these.

I bet you have seen wooden utensils used a lot at parties lately.  They bring a bit of charm and warmth that their disposable plastic counter parts just quite can't provide.  Wooden utensils look great as is, tied together with bakers twine or tucked into a bitty bag.

They are also sold in many Etsy stores with pre-stamped designs. YOU, however, can easily dress up these utensils yourself.  Use jewels, glitter, or a stamp and food dye in the color or theme of your party to create a very personal look.

For my Shake, Rattle and Roll Party, I used a thin piece of paper and Mod Podge to create a spoon that perfectly matched my color scheme.

To create a similar look for your party, simply;
1. Print out your design on a thin piece of paper.  You can also use scrap book paper, a printed paper napkin or thick piece of tissue paper.
2. Trace around the top part of the spoon and cut out.
3. Apply a thin layer of Mod Podge to the spoon.
4. Lay on cutout and gently top with another layer of Mod Podge. Let dry.
