Make It Monday- Plant a Pumpkin

Since today is my birthday (old), I though I would share an activity I love- planting pumpkins (and other vegetables for that matter).  Before I had children, I was a "gardener."  I loved spending time in the yard planting vegetables, picking fresh herbs and pruning my 60 rose bushes.  Once my children were born all the love and nurturing that I put into my garden was put into them.  One gardening activity I kept, however, was planting pumpkins.  And believe it or not, now is the time to plant them.   The picture above shows with pumpkins we grew a few years ago.  Pumpkins are super easy to grow from seed but if those intimidate you, nurseries now carry several pumpkin varieties in four inch pots.  Think of how great your yard will look in the fall- perfect for a harvest party.

I just love these pumpkins and since I was at the nursery, I decided to grab a few other things.  Corn, four types of tomatoes, basil, and eggplant.

I am so excited to share this tradition again with my children.  It was a great weekend!
XO,
Jenny
